Charging Policies


We charge on the basis of consultation time.  Appointments that take longer than the time that has been scheduled are subject to an additional charge. 

Additional fees are payable for time spent considering and researching matters, making and receiving telephone calls, as well as briefing and discussing outcomes with relevant specialists. Additional charges may also be payable for the writing of medical reports and referral letters.

Emails relating to medical matters that require time to read or respond will also attract a fee.

Fees are subject to change without notice.

Payment Terms

All fees must be settled at the time of consultation. We accept credit/debit cards, BAC's transfers and cash. We are unable to accept American Express or cheques.

If you wish to use medical insurance for your consultation please arrange for a guarantee of payment to be sent to the practice prior to your appointment.  If we do not receive a guarantee of payment, responsibility for the fee falls to the patient. You may then claim back from your insurer at a later date. 

Patients with outstanding accounts are only seen at the doctor's discretion.

Payment pre-authorisation is required for all new patients.

Payment in advance is taken for all vaccination appointments and travel consultations.

Cancellation Policy

We require 24 hours notice for the cancellation of appointments. Failure to notify us within this time will incur the full cost of the appointment. Notice for the cancellation of Monday appointments must be given by 12pm on the previous Friday. 

Dr Schnack and Dr Gibson require 48 hours notice for cancellation of their appointments.

If a patient is unwell for their vaccination appointment they should attend anyway and the nurse will confirm whether a vaccine can be given. If the nurse decides that it is not possible to give a vaccine, no fee is payable. In all other circumstances a cancellation charge of £30 will apply.


Vaccine Administration

PLEASE NOTE: It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to restrain a child in order for a vaccine to be safely administered. The full cost of the vaccine is payable as soon as the vaccine has been opened.  If is is not possible to administer all or part of the vaccine because a child has not been adequately restrained or for any other reason, the full cost of the vaccine and any replacement vaccine will be due.

The practice strongly recommends that you bring with you a parent or guardian who is able to help you restrain your child, and that you discuss the importance of this with your child before attending your appointment.  

A vaccine appointment lasts for 15 minutes. If the nurse is unable to administer the vaccine within this time you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.  The full cost of the vaccine will be due if it has been opened, otherwise a cancellation fee of £30 will be payable to cover the cost of the nurse's time.
